IIBD President’s Desk
Dear IIBD Members,
The building industry has proven itself to be one of the largest and most important segments of the Indian economy. Certainly in such a vast industry there is room for architects and non-architect design professionals to co-exist. Perhaps one of the greatest sticking points on this issue is defining the qualifications of the non-architect design professional, the building designer. I believe the standards established by the Indian Institute of Building Designers Association combined with the development of a uniform and quantifiable curriculum for the education of building/residential designers and it holds the answer to establishing a category of professionals specifically suited to designing the different types of building projects.
I look forward to updating you on this most important progress toward our future as professionals.
